About the Lifestyle Lift™

Welcome to our practice and the amazing Lifestyle Lift™. We are excited for you and we will strive to make your  experience and the result from your procedure outstanding. Questions may arise after your consultation and we would like to take a moment to review some points with you. Sometimes, it is nice to have family members or spouses visit our facility, meet our physicians, and see before and after photos of the Lifestyle Lift™. Please do not hesitate to call to arrange such a visit or to have any of your questions answered further.

What is the Lifestyle Lift™?

The Lifestyle Lift™ is a small version face lift that can deliver big results. It is exclusively designed to improve  sagging jowls, frown lines, wrinkles and loose skin of the face and neck. It was created as a more efficient and easier way to address these concerns than a traditional procedure. Recovery is quick, often with minimal discomfort, swelling and bruising. We describe it as a new procedure for a new generation!

What Does The Lifestyle Lift™ Do?

In the fourth decade of life, gravity, heredity, sun exposure and the stresses of daily life begin to have an effect on the human face. The jaw line grows slack and jowls begin to form. Fatty deposits and loose skin begin to appear in the lower face and neck. Creases form between the nose and mouth. These changes tend to make people look older than they feel. The Lifestyle Lift™ can improve these visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles and tightening and smoothing the skin of the face and neck. The procedure restores your jaw line and neck and helps create a more youthful appearance. The results are immediate and often dramatic. You can see and feel the improvement before you leave the office! The Lifestyle Lift™ can do great things to enhance your appearance and your self-confidence. The Lifestyle Lift™ can be performed alone or with eyelid tightening procedures (blepharoplasty). These procedures help reduce the signs of aging around the eyes. Together they can be potent tools to help restore your appearance. These procedures are the only ones performed at the Lifestyle Lift™ Centers.

How Long Has This Procedure Been Performed?

Face lift procedures have been performed safely for over fifty years. The Lifestyle Lift™ was introduced as a new alternative to the traditional, larger types of face lifts. There has been a trend in all of medicine to move away from extensive, long and involved procedures (such as a traditional face lift) to simpler, quicker and safer procedures (such as the Lifestyle Lift™). By concentrating exclusively on the performance of the Lifestyle Lift™, our surgeons have become the country’s experts with this procedure. They have performed tens of thousands of procedures at their centers around the country!

Who Are The Best Candidates For The Lifestyle Lift™?

The best candidates for the Lifestyle Lift™ are men and women who have begun to see the signs of aging in their faces from sagging skin and jowls, looseness in the neck, etc. Most patients are in their forties to sixties - but the procedure can be done safely in people who are in their seventies and eighties and who are in good health. Careful medical histories are obtained by our staff. Patients with chronic medical problems, well controlled with medication, may also be candidates for the Lifestyle Lift™. If there are any concerns about your health issues, we will consult with your family physician to make certain that proceeding is medically safe.

Is The Lifestyle Lift™ Safe?

Your safety is our number one concern. The Lifestyle Lift™ has been safely performed on tens of thousands of people. The statistics support the fact that it is an extremely safe procedure, with few risks or complications. However, any surgical procedure carries some uncertainties and risks. However small they may be, our staff and physicians will carefully discuss them with you and answer all of your questions and concerns.

Where Is The Lifestyle Lift™ Performed?

The Lifestyle Lift™ is performed in our specially equipped procedure suite within the Lifestyle Lift™ Center. The atmosphere is relaxed and professional. We use only state-of-the-art medical, sterilization, and safety equipment and techniques. The procedure is done with the patient on a comfortable reclining type of chair. Usually soft music is playing and every effort is made for you to feel as comfortable and as relaxed as possible.

What Anesthesia Is Used For The Lifestyle Lift™?

Once again, your safety is our number one concern. With the use of local anesthesia the area is numb and no discomfort is felt during your procedure. For patients who are nervous, a mild sedative can be administered. This will help calm the nerves. If a patient wishes this sedative, he or she must have someone present to drive home. We have used this method of anesthesia in thousands of cases with great

Who Performs My Lifestyle Lift™?

The Lifestyle Lift™ is performed exclusively by our highly skilled and expertly qualified surgeons. Each surgeon has an extensive background in Facial Plastic Surgery and is individually selected by Dr. David M. Kent, our Medical Director. Safety record, training, demeanor and board certification are all taken into account before a surgeon is selected, and can then undergo the training to specialize in the Lifestyle Lift™. Since our surgeons have just one focus - the Lifestyle Lift™, they have become the country’s experts. You will not find a group of surgeons more dedicated to excellence and to your well-being than our group of specialists. We want you to be assured that you are in the safest and best of hands.

How Is The Lifestyle Lift™ Performed?

You will arrive at the Center at a designated time assigned to you. The necessary financial and paperwork items will be taken care of by one of our professionals. We will then prepare you for the procedure. Appropriate informed consents will be obtained. Your surgeon will then review the procedure and answer any remaining questions. Local anesthetic is then administered. The procedure will then take place, lasting from one to two hours (depending on what is scheduled to be done.) You should not feel any discomfort during the procedure. You are safe, awake and relaxed. At the conclusion of the procedure, the surgical tech will clean the operative areas and apply small bandages called Steri-Strips™. The tech will allow you to look in the mirror to see the new you! Post-operative instructions, and medications will be reviewed. A detailed instruction sheet will also be provided.

What Happens After My Lifestyle Lift™?

After your procedure, the post-operative instructions will be reviewed, as above. Most people benefit from taking it easy the rest of the day. Applying ice or cold compresses to the areas that have been operated upon, and keeping your head elevated will help reduce the swelling and bruising. Specific instructions for care will be provided. Medications will be prescribed by your doctor for relief of discomfort and to reduce the risk of infection.

The day following your surgery you may shower and wash your hair. You may wear make-up, but must avoid getting it on the incision lines. Most patients do experience some swelling and bruising, and prefer to take a few days off from their activities. We ask that you refrain from heavy activities bending, lifting, etc.) until your sutures have been removed. Common sense will dictate when normal activities can resume.

What If I Have Additional Questions Before My Procedure?

We encourage everyone to call the office at any time with any questions. We believe the educated patient will do well before, during and after the procedure. Most questions can be answered over the phone. If you would like to speak to your physician again, for any reason, please call and we will arrange another consultation. Please do not hesitate to call for any reason.

The first step in starting down the path to a more renewed outlook on life is the Lifestyle Lift consultation. This free consultation allows you to meet with Lifestyle Lift staff to discuss what to expect during the Lifestyle Lift.

What will the free consultation be like?

When you arrive for your Lifestyle Lift consultation, you'll be welcomed by professional staff members who will be able to answer all of your questions regarding the procedure. The staff will carefully go over details about the Lifestyle Lift, how it works, and what you can expect.

As much as you learn, you'll also be asked to convey what your specific areas of concern are and what results you would like to see from the procedure. The Lifestyle Lift representative will listen carefully to the specific areas of concern to you - whether it’s sagging skin, droopy eyes, turkey neck, or otherwise - and then discuss how the Lifestyle Lift can help improve those specific areas.

Why should I go to a Lifestyle Lift™ consultation?

The consultation allows you to talk one-on-one with a Lifestyle Lift expert about the procedure and how it will impact you and your needs specifically. The consultation also permits you and a medical professional to make sure that you are a good candidate for the procedure. Safety is the number one priority of the Lifestyle Lift, and in rare cases there are medical issues that may need to be considered prior to the Lifestyle Lift consultation.

And, of course, there's no cost and no obligations associated with the Lifestyle Lift consultation, so what do you have to lose?

One of the most frequent questions we receive from those interested in the Lifestyle Lift is "How does the Lifestyle Lift differ from other face lifts and cosmetic procedures?" It's a question that we're glad to answer since there are some very important differences between the Lifestyle Lift and other plastic surgery procedures.

Anesthesia

Safety is of utmost importance for the entire staff of the Lifestyle Lift. We recognize that there are potential risks associated with general anesthesia and IV anesthesia. That's why the Lifestyle Lift is performed using only local anesthesia, meaning those unnecessary risks are not an issue with the Lifestyle Lift. Rest assured that you'll be completely comfortable during the Lifestyle Lift procedure thanks to the local anesthesia that is used to numb your face. Our staff will be at your side during the procedure to make sure that you're comfortable and not in pain during the Lifestyle Lift.

Length of Procedure

Unlike traditional face lifts, which can drag on for hours, the Lifestyle Lift has raised attention throughout the world for the short time required to complete the procedure. Although the actual length of the procedure will vary based on the specific aspects of the Lifestyle Lift you'd like performed, there are many cases where the procedure takes about than an hour!

Length of Recovery

Once your Lifestyle Lift is complete, expect a swift recovery. Most Lifestyle Lift patients return to their regular schedules within a matter of days and with minimal disruption to their lives. Because the Lifestyle Lift is much less intrusive than most traditional face lifts, the small, hidden incisions used in the Lifestyle Lift heal much more quickly. Occasionally, slight bruising occurs but heals very quickly, and is usually minor enough to be easily covered with makeup or concealer.
